Research Project Scheme: applications now open

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the SUM4Products Research Project Scheme and are inviting teams of UK academics and BIG (Business, Industry, Government) partners to apply for funding.

This scheme will support short, impact‑focused research collaborations that develop multi‑disciplinary ideas and deepen relationships between academia and industry.

Projects will typically run for three months full‑time (or part‑time over a longer duration) and must involve at least one UK University Partner and one BIG Partner directly aligned with the challenge.

Key details:
• Deadline for applications: Monday 16th March 2026
• SUM4Products contributes 60% of project costs (70% for projects involving SMEs)
• Applications co-created between the University and BIG Partner
• Teams can apply to use time from our two full-time Innovation Research Associates (InRAs) as project researchers
